BGF Presents: Ultimate Frisbee at Sin City

Frisbee is back at the Sin City Classic for 2023! We'll be gathering Ultimate players from all over the country for a delightful two-day tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada this January. You are gayly invited to participate

What is The Sin City Classic?

A gathering of 20+ amateur LGBTQ+ sports organizations that hold tournaments over one weekend. This is a chance to meet queer athletes and fans from all over the country. The broader Sin City organization hosts opening and closing parties. BGF SF is organizing the frisbee tournament and a few parties of our own.

Where does all this happen?

In sunny Las Vegas, Nevada! Most of the action centers around the host hotels (Flamingo, The Linq, and Ballys). Our games are held at Desert Breeze Park, about a 10-minute drive west of The Strip.

When does all this happen?

Over Martin Luther King, Jr weekend in January. The weekend kicks off Friday, January 13th and wraps up the evening of Sunday the 15th. The frisbee tournament is Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Most attendees arrive in Las Vegas Friday afternoon/evening and leave Monday.

Where do I stay?

Good question! Most Sin City attendees stay at the host hotels. There are special group discounted rates available here. Our attendees who don't want to be right on the Strip (and our points queens) often stay at the Westin. Fancier nearby properties include The Venetian and The Cosmopolitan. We advise booking a hotel room soon, there are a limited number of discounted Sin City Rooms.

What does the weekend look like?

• Friday 1/13: Registration & Opening Party 5:00-9:00 | Flamingo Hotel - Sunset Ballroom

• Saturday 1/14: Tournament Day 1 followed by a very special drag competition (location: one of the host hotels, details forthcoming)

• Sunday 1/15: Tournament Finals, Spirit Games and Closing Parties. Sin City hosts a big closing party, and we will throw one of our own at a nearby hotel suite.

What about the Frisbeeeeeee?

The Frisbee tournament is a spirited all-are-welcome experience. Registered players will be randomly drawn into teams, led by a courageous captains. Saturday will be round-robin play. Sunday will be a bracket-style tournament, with optional spirit games for those too exhausted to physically compete.

What is the cost?

Registration costs for the tournament are as follows:

• Before December 1st: $45

• Before January 1st: $55

• After January 1st: $65

Unless you live in Las Vegas, your largest costs will be travel and housing. To try to keep costs low, we will work to coordinate those willing to share hotel rooms and vehicle transportation from Los Angeles.
